F1 Yeongam - Sunday Photos (MGP)

The first-ever Formula 1 race held in South Korea has been a very unpredictable and action-packed round, now when there are only 2 grands prix left till the end of the 2010 season. The severe conditions caused by the torrential rain ruined the initial racing strategies of the teams, as well as the start of the race, which was postponed ten minutes. It was then resumed under Safety Car, only to be stopped under red flag few laps later, because of poor visibility and fear of track crashes between the single-seaters. Time flew away and there was another try to start the race, obviously in SCD (Safety Car Deployed) status. For more than 10 laps, the drivers struggled to maintain their cars into proper functioning parameters, and as the rain lowered in intensity, the decision to send the SC in came and, in lap 18, the racing action hit the Yeongam circuit. Up to the finish line, there followed a large amount of dramatism and adrenaline, as many accident and retirements took place on the track. Michael took full advantage of his main opponents' issues and managed to complete the race on the fourth position, while Nico was forced to abandon after he hit Mark Webber's spinning car.
