According to Olla Kaellenius, the Mercedes-AMG boss, the new SLS AMG Cabriolet will bow at the next edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011. To be launched exactly two years after the 'Gullwing' version, the roadster model of the SLS AMG will make use of a lightweight, classy canvas top. The engine roaring under the bonnet will be the well-known 6.2 litres V8, delivering a peak output of 571 hp and an impressive high-end torque of 650 Nm. Sticking to the development programme of the new open-top supercar from Affalterbach, engineers are really taking their time when it comes to testing the car, as there are nine months left until it's officially premiered.
