F1 Monza - More Sunday Photos (VMM)

It has been a tough and challenging racing day for the Woking-based F1 team at Monza. Jenson Button managed a great start and stole the first position from Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. Lewis Hamilton went up a place and, in the first corners of the circuit, was pushing on Felipe Massa when, suddenly, he found himself stuck in a tricky situation and, in the end, slightly hit the rear left wheel of the Brazilian driver. However, there was enough force produced to severely damage the front right wheel of Lewis, that eventually became unresponsive to steering movements and finally led to Hamilton's retirement. The pit-stop strategy didn't work in favour of Jenson, who, after returning on track, didn't manage to get past Alonso, that was also coming out of the pit area, in the next lap, and in the end, the Briton came home 2nd, bringing 18 precious points for the team.
