CLASSIC: the 1955 alloy-bodied, chassis no.21 300 SL Racing uncovered

Remember the classic 300 SL Racing of 1955, the last one (chassis no. 21) missing from the series of 29 alloy-bodied units built between 1954 and 1957? Well, after we revealed in September that it was found in a barn in Santa Monica, California, after more than 40 years of utter silence, we have now come across several pictures showcasing the beauty. Although it looks to be in a quite bad, rusty shape, this 300 SL Racing series model appears to be structurally integral (theoretically!) and offers a solid base for an impecable makeover. The restoration process will be carried out by Rudi Koniczek and it will certainly take some time: two to four years. All that heavy work will be worth in the end, as the car will return to its original glory.
