It came to our attention that a number of 7 patent design files showing a future, unknown smart model hit the internet these days. The pictured car offers little details to play with: the only thing we know for sure is the nonconformist cabrio shape, that harks back to the 2002 Smart Crossblade, a limited edition open-top model that featured large-diameter wheels, no windscreen and gas-actioned steel safety bars instead of conventional doors. So, we might be in for a suprise: whether Smart will premiere (in the near future) a series model or a concept (more likely) based on what seems to be a successor of the Crossblade, only time will tell.
