PREVIEW OF ANNIVERSARIES IN 2008


November 8 – 18, 1928 – 80 years ago:
The Mercedes-Benz 200 Stuttgart (W 02), a revised further development of the 8/38 hp model, is unveiled for the first time at the International Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition in Berlin. From January 1929 this model is also available with a 2.6‑liter engine. Another vehicle presented at the exhibition is a 3.5‑liter 14/60-hp variant (W 05) of the 12/55‑hp three-liter car (W 03/W 04).


Other memorable dates:

November 19, 1968 – 40 years ago: The Mercedes-Benz 250 C and 250 CE (W 114) coupes newly unveiled in Hockenheim add a second coupe line to the passenger car range. For the first time, the company can now also offer customers a mid-range coupe variant.

November 17, 1998 – 10 years ago: “Day One”, the first day of stock market trading for the DaimlerChrysler share in New York, Frankfurt and another 19 stock exchanges, marks the beginning of a new era. The formation of DaimlerChrysler prompts name changes at the Group subsidiaries DASA and debis. Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG now operates as DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG, whilst Daimler-Benz Interservices (debis) AG is re-christened DaimlerChrysler Services (debis) AG.
