LEAKED: The Mercedes-Benz Shooting Break Concept - First photos surface on the internet

This is the highly awaited concept Mercedes-Benz has hidden in its store for unveiling it later on the stage of the Beijing Motor Show, just 4 days ahead. This intriguing model will most likely make it to production version in a pretty much similar way. Moreover, the Shooting Break Concept also sheds a light onto the exterior & interior design of the new CLS-Klasse (C 218), expected to make its official debut at the Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris, approximately 6 months away from now on.

With this show prototype, Mercedes-Benz reinterpreted the concept of Shooting Break model, by adding the car 2 extra doors, that fit perfectly in the very slim, sexy, very sporty and attractive exterior shape. The dynamic stance of the car is also doubled by the large-diameter wheels sporting a curvy design composed of 5 triple-spoke groups, by the 100% LED headlights(which will be transfered to the new CLS series model, too), by the generously-dimensioned one-louvre radiator grille a la SLS AMG and the front air intakes, as well as the intriguing and otherwise elegant shape of the tail lights, which also feature LED technology.

The interior, styled in a Gran Turismo-like architecture, comprises 4 individual and super comfortable seats and is styled in an exclusive, upscale, premium way, with a lot of wood trim, leather upholstery and luxury gimmicks being almost "excessively" used. The dashboard of the Shooting Break Concept (resembling a bit too much those of BMWs, if you ask us) is very close to production form and shall also be premiered on the new CLS-Klasse.

Under the bonnet, the car is equipped with a new 3.5 litres V6 turbo powerplant, capable of developing a maximum output of 306 BHP and ensuring a peak torque of 370 Nm.

To sum up, the new concept from Stuttgart serves as a good preview for the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLS-Klasse and, furthermore, if the Shooting Break Concept is well received by the public(and, why wouldn't it be well received, if it looks so nonconventional and controversial?), then the car could become reality in a matter of years. Not many, we guess 1-2 years from now on.
