The new 2015 Mercedes-Benz SUV coupe previewed at the Tuscaloosa plant
Following previous week's official announcement on the addition of a new model assembled at the US plant starting 2015, Mercedes-Benz chose to display a teaser image inside the Tuscaloosa factory. The banner showcases a liquid sculpture of the anticipated SUV coupe, that will be developed on the underpinnings of the new M-Class and will compete with BMW X6 and the upcoming Audi Q6. The definitive designation is yet to be decided, but we can speculate the car may be entitled MLC or GLS. Given past experiences, we expect Mercedes-Benz to release, in the coming years, a series of artistic sculptures and concept showcars to preview the new 4x4 model.

PREVIEW: A new Mercedes-Benz SUV concept in the pipeline - the GLS
While searching on the internet, we came across the above design sketch. You'll probably be tempted to say there's nothing to comment upon on the image as it may not look too revealing, but guess what: it appears Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch a new concept vehicle in the near future. The show car would serve as a preview for the anticipated BLK/GLA compact-sized SUV aimed at BMW X1 and Audi Q3, set to arrive in 2013, but it could as well tease the future GLC sports utility coupe. Latest information shows that the model would be entitled GLS Concept and feature a two-door, coupe-like body. Exterior design is said to be inspired by the strong, solid, rather rough lines of the iconic Gelandewagen as well as the chich, curvaceous looks of the CLS-Class. No more specific details are known by the time, but the next period should confirm us the likelihood of the GLS Concept.
